Going Green
I would like to take this opportunity to express my opinions on the green issues, I believe that the PC is on the downward slope to extinction.
We have rising fuel costs which in turn are driving electricity prices higher and higher and we are all being asked to reduce our ‘Carbon Footprint’ A Pc on average has a 500 Watt power supply fitted and just sucks up electricity whereas a laptop on average only uses around a 10th of this. Today I received a mail from one of my suppliers offering a PC in 17 inch screen using on average only 65Watts of energy per day based on a typical working day. It doesn’t have any wires apart from one power cable. Just think how much space is going to be saved in offices, classrooms, schools and internet cafe’s on top of much smaller electricity bills.
